Beyourlover is an online adult-products retailer. The source describes it as a top-three seller in Amazon's adult category. It owns a factory, develops products in-house and says customers in Japan know and trust the brand.

The SEO curve might suggest that a highly competitive category required extensive link building. According to the source, the project used almost no link building and published fewer than ten content pieces.

Those two details describe this particular engagement; they are not a recommendation to avoid authority building or to cap every content program at ten pages. The source attributes the progress to several connected changes made for one established brand in one language market. A different site may need more supporting content, stronger external evidence or a different acquisition mix.

Before the engagement

The website had already been promoted for six months and grew slowly during that period. The source says the team had not yet built a systematic understanding of SEO.

  1. Keyword placement was inconsistent.
  2. The site had several technical problems.
  3. No team member owned SEO execution for the independent website.
  4. The team did not know how to approach a smaller language market.

What the team did

The engagement began in July 2021.

The first task was to reorganize the Japanese keyword set. This was difficult because of the language barrier and incomplete data for smaller language markets in the available tools.

The OpenCart implementation also contained several elements that did not support SEO. The framework and technical setup took substantial time to adjust.

Consulting was combined with corporate training so the client team could implement each strategy accurately.

  • Technical and performance optimization.
  • Keyword analysis.
  • A writing plan for the target language.
  • A specialized approach to link acquisition.
  • Page-interface improvements.
  • Other implementation details.

The source says most team members developed a sound understanding of SEO, communication became smoother and growth accelerated.

This operating detail matters to the account: the consultant did not describe a stand-alone audit that stopped at recommendations. The client team learned the approach as the work progressed and carried out the technical, content and interface tasks. The source therefore ties the reported outcome to implementation by the owner, project lead and team as well as to the strategy itself.

It also records a light-hearted client video in which the project lead praised the consultant's voice after describing the demanding workload.

Results reported after the engagement

After seven months, the source reported that traffic had doubled, conversion rate had tripled and sales had increased sixfold.

The project was difficult because of the language and the industry. The source credits the owner, project lead and wider team with continuing through those constraints.

At that point, sales were described as continuing to grow and reaching one thirtieth of the client's Amazon sales. The team stated that it hoped the independent website would eventually exceed Amazon.

The traffic, conversion and sales claims are different measures and should not be treated as interchangeable. The source does not state the precise baseline, attribution model, revenue window or denominator used for each percentage. Keeping those limitations visible is necessary when reading the chart and the commercial result together.

After one year, the source reported 400% traffic growth, more than 1,000 core keywords on Google's first page, more than 300 keywords in the top three and a tenfold increase in sales.

The source also records a new two-year plan: if implementation proceeded smoothly, the team aimed for at least 300,000 visits in the first year, 700,000 in the second and a leading position in the category.

The final source item is a Beyourlover feedback video. The Chinese page presents it as client feedback from the engagement period.

Evidence note: every figure above is a retrospective claim preserved from the Chinese source and dated to the 2021–2022 engagement period. The public page does not provide access to the analytics property, ecommerce ledger, keyword export or a controlled comparison. The numbers therefore describe what the source reported; they are not independently verified here, and they are not a forecast or guarantee for another site.

This case also reflects a specific Japanese-language ecommerce site, its OpenCart implementation, the client's internal team and an adult-products category. Another language may attract different competitors. A different platform may create other technical faults, and a smaller team may implement the work at another pace. Inventory, pricing and brand demand can also change the result. The transferable lesson is the sequence of work: organize keywords, correct technical faults, train the team, plan the content and measure the result. It is not an expectation that another project will reproduce the same percentages or timeline.
